About us

The Austrian Aviation Museum is a privately run association that works independently of public subsidies. Our aim is to preserve and promote the history of Austrian aviation. Through our diverse activities and exhibitions, we offer visitors the opportunity to explore the fascinating world of aviation.

Funding

The museum is mainly financed by various sources:

  • membership fees
  • entrance fees
  • Income from exhibitions and publications
  • Sponsorship funds, including roof advertising, sponsorship walls, and posters
  • donations
  • sale of items in the museum shop

Our board consists of committed members who are responsible for the management and organization of the association:

Membership

As a member of the association, you have the following benefits:

  • Free access to the museum on Sundays and public holidays from May to October
  • A free club newspaper at least twice a year
  • Participation in all club events
  • Opportunity to collaborate and co-create the museum, including restoration of exhibits

Activities and goals

Our association pursues various goals in accordance with the statutes:

  • Building up an extensive collection of aircraft from various periods of Austrian aviation history
  • Provision of an accessible exhibition hall for the public
  • Promoting knowledge about aircraft technology and aviation history
  • Establishment of a comprehensive photo and document archive on Austrian aviation
  • Maintenance and operation of airworthy classic cars
